A real-world gateway into the Pokémon TCG Pocket universe

Pokémon TCG Pocket is loved by millions of global Pokémon fans, having burst into the hands of over 150 million fans worldwide over the last year. To celebrate the 1st anniversary of Pokémon TCG Pocket, we supported Havas in creating a unique and immersive experience inside Outernet London. Our role was to conceptualize and produce impactful moments on Outernet’s massive LED screens, bringing fans deeper into the world of Pokémon through multi-sensory digital storytelling and interactive moments.

Overview

Collaborating closely with Havas and Outernet London’s production team, we focused on taking key moments of the popular app’s gameplay and turn them into a massive communal experience. This included designing and delivering the Wonderpick experience, the Treasure Hunt interaction, the Mega Openings, and the Biomes Gallery - all moments Pokémon TCG Pocket fans would enjoy experiencing in a new medium like Outernet London. We also created the app component that extended the experience beyond the physical space, ensuring that every interaction felt connected and responsive. Throughout the project, we paid close attention to visual fidelity, pacing, and energy so the entire experience stayed true to the spirit of Pokémon TCG Pocket and the way players engage with the game.

Key Components: Immersive Backgrounds for Wonderpick, Mega Openings, and Biomes.

We created a set of fully immersive 360° backgrounds designed specifically for Outernet’s large-scale LED space, transforming the venue into a series of expansive visual worlds. For Wonderpick, the environment lifted visitors into soft, cloud-filled skies, creating a sense of lightness and discovery. The Mega Openings introduced three elemental settings — Fire, Water and Air — each crafted to amplify the scale and cinematic energy of the Mega Openings moments.

The Biomes Gallery allowed visitors to choose from five different habitats, and whichever one they selected would instantly take over the entire room. In a moment, the space shifted into a new Pokémon-inspired world, surrounding everyone in a fresh environment that felt vibrant and alive.

The App Extension

Visitors were invited to interact directly with the experience by scanning an on-site QR code, allowing them to join a live multiplayer game. Using their phones, guests could perform actions such as selecting cards, syncing their device with the main Outernet screens, and influencing the visual content in real time. This interactive layer made the experience more immersive, transforming every participant into an active part of the Pokémon world.
